This resource is a non-fiction comprehension activity for year 2 on Rosa Parks. It is based on the KS1 SATs reading paper and includes 3 differentiated levels with answers. Rosa Parks is listed as a significant individual in the Key Stage 1 History curriculum.

There are a range of ‘what’ and ‘when’ and ‘where’ questions, some multiple choice tick questions and some that require more detailed answers. The activity is also laid out in a similar way to the SATs booklets, with four pages of pictures and short written extracts to read and 2-3 questions per page.
This is a 5 lesson French unit for beginners, perfect for using with KS2. It teaches children about France and French speaking regions.
The lessons are:
Lesson 1 - French Countryside - The children learn the vocabulary for places in the countryside in French e.g. lavender fields, rivers and mountains.
Lesson 2 - Regions of France - The children learn the vocabulary to describe different regions of France e.g. In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, there are mountains. The lesson teaches children sentences to describe seven different regions.
Lesson 3 - French Speaking Countries - The children learn the vocabulary to describe the landscape in different French speaking countries e.g. In Guadeloupe there are beaches. The children are taught sentences to describe eight French speaking countries or regions.
Lesson 4 - Paris - The children learn about tourist sites around Paris and how to describe in French places they would like to visit e.g I would like to visit the Eiffel Tower. There is also a bit of information in English about each of the eight places that are mentioned.
Lesson 5 - French Festivals - The children learn about six festivals. There is the French word for each festival, a little bit of information in English and two more French phrases linked to the festival.
The plans all give details of a starter, how to teach the new vocabulary, followed by a combination of listening activities, speaking activities, reading/writing activities and plenary. Each lesson is highly interactive and allows children to practise a range of language skills.

This resource is a set of 5 Art lessons based around the theme of the sea, oceans and water for KS1. The key skills that are taught include creating different tones and shades with paint and pencil, using shapes, patterns and lines and experimenting with different materials.
There are 3 different artists used as inspiration, all of whom have painted the sea or water using very different techniques. The children have the opportunity to work alone for 4 lessons and part of a collaborative group project for the final lesson. They have lots of opportunity to choose what materials they work with.
The 15 page pdf lesson plans are very detailed and include a list of any resources you will need to get out of the cupboard. There are also details of curriculum links and examples of work from my classes. I have included the simple 7 slide PowerPoint I used for the series of lessons, which contains examples of the artists’ work around which the lessons are based.

This resource is a plan for a lesson about the Annunciation, when Gabriel visits Mary to tell her she will give birth to the baby Jesus. It is suitable for using with Key Stage 1.
The 5 page pdf lesson plan includes a starter, two drama activities, a short written activity and a plenary whole class activity. A 30 page pack of fun Christmas themed activities aimed at 5-7 year olds.
There are a mixture of numeracy, literacy, phonics and art activities perfect for the end of term. This is a plan for an assembly on Advent, with a focus on preparing for Christmas. There is an optional simple PowerPoint on Advent traditions included. The plan is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute!
I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. So this assembly involves using an anecdote about a December when you prepared for Christmas in all the wrong ways. You can use the example in the plan or use an anecdote from your own childhood. The children are then encouraged to think about how they can prepare for Christmas by thinking about others. There is a lot of opportunity for children to think about their own experiences and to feedback. There is also an example prayer/reflection to finish with.
